College of the Sequoias is seeking candidates to fill a part-time, Head Cross Country Coach/Assistant Track Coach position in the Physical Education/Athletics Department beginning January 6, 2025.

The hourly rate for this position is between $67.56 - $76.15 - dependent upon education (Please see Part- Time Faculty Salary Schedule on the COS Human Resources website for more details).

Job Duties

Duties include, but not limited to:

Effectively recruit distance runner student-athletes to COS.
Coach COS distance runners as the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Cross Country program, and be the assistant coach for track and field focused on distance runners.
Be able to assist student athletes through their academic journey at COS.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must meet the following criteria. (The degree must be from an accredited institution).

Associate degree AND six years of professional experience related to the assignment OR
Bachelor degree AND two years of experience related to the assignment OR
The equivalent AND
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students which pursuant to Title 5 53022 is a core system competency and job requirement.

Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated experience to help athletes and/or runners improve their physical abilities.
Possess the soft skills necessary to effectively recruit student-athletes and work in a team environment.
