Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School is seeking an Assistant Boy's Basketball Coach. The Assistant Boy's Basketball Coach assists the Head Basketball Coach in growing the basketball teams into competitive programs. The Assistant Boy's Basketball Coach teaches and coaches with the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; Holistic Education.

Description of Job Duties
-Assists the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport;
-Organizes and directs individual and small group practices, activities/exercises as directed by the head coach;
-Assess team skills, monitors athletes during competitions and practice and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes;
-Assists the head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition;
-Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, and spectators;
-Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Possess effective coaching techniques and skills;
-Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of Basketball;
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents and students;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Required Education
High School Diploma or its equivalent

Required Work Experience
-Two (2) years of coaching experience;
-College playing experience substitutes for coaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications
-Bachelors Degree;
-Experience as a player at a collegiate or professional level

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
-Must have CDL (Commercial Drivers License) or obtain CDL before November 30, 2019;
-Valid Texas drivers license with the ability to be insured through UIWs vehicle insurance carrier
