Job Summary:
The Department of Athletics and Recreation at Bucknell University, a member of the NCAA Division I (FCS in Football) and the Patriot League for 23 of 27 varsity sports, is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach. The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for working closely with the Head Coach on managing and administering phases of this varsity intercollegiate sport program.

What You'll Do:
Coaching Responsibilities| 40% | Lead training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Perform specific coaching responsibilities during athletic events. Perform assigned responsibilities within the daily operations and overall administration of the sports program, as assigned by the Head Coach. This may include, but is not limited to, team travel arrangements, compliance administration, development of scouting reports, planning and execution of marketing and promotional activities, etc. Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University and NCAA regulations.
Recruiting | 40% | Scout and recruit quality student-athletes under the guidance and direction of the Head Coach. Coordinate all recruiting activities in conjunction with the Head Coach and other appropriate departmental personnel. Be responsible to identify, cultivate, and assess for a specific geographical area or position group.
Student Athlete Services | 20% | Demonstrate an active interest in the academic progress of student-athletes. Work closely with all appropriate departmental personnel to assure academic success of student-athletes. Work with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate, and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes.

What You'll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Athletic Training, or related field
- Professional Work Experience: Prior experience coaching or competing at the collegiate level
- Valid US Driver's License
- Maintain current CPR/AED certification
Preferred, but not required:
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Strength Training or a related field of Exercise Science/Kinesiology
- Professional Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience competing and coaching collegiate volleyball
- Proven integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
- Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified student-athletes

35,000.00-41,600.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
